Ohio and Jiangsu Hold Dialogue on Bilateral Investment

On December 3rd, 2020, Chinese Chamber member JobsOhio, the Jiangsu Province Department of Commerce, and the Jiangsu branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade hosted an online dialogue on investment opportunities in their respective locations.

Attended by about local 50 government and company representatives on both sides, as well as Ohio's Chinese chambers of commerce, the event was an opportunity for Ohio and Jiangsu to share their respective strengths and targeted areas for growth.

To connect with opportunities in Jiangsu, please contact Amy Lei, JobsOhio Manager of Asia Business Development.

During the event, JobsOhio representatives Justin Kocher and Amy Lei pointed out that Ohio:

  • Is within one day's truck drive of about 60% of the population of the US and Canada

  • Has rich educational resources producing a highly-skilled workforce

  • Offers state and local incentives to companies locating in Ohio

  • Helps foreign companies identify the best location in Ohio for their business

Jiangsu Province Department of Commerce shared that:

  • Jiangsu has the highest amount of foreign investment of any Chinese province

  • Jiangsu has the third highest GDP of Chinese provinces (and the highest GDP per capita)

  • The province has targeted biotech and finance as foci for growth and official support in the 14th Five Year Plan, which begins in 2021.
